The_X-Files could have easily had at least one episode about the_human_foot mystery between Seattle and Vancouver, BC.
But for some reason, it was never covered within the overall mythology of the series.

Even if that part of the world just happened to become a region where a foot is all that is discovered from a missing body, it's a very strange phenomenon. In this case, a paranormal explanation might really make a lot more sense.
