However, there are plenty of stories, legends & myths, but doesn't in of it self prove much. Or does it? Sometimes its one or a few people encountering something strange or several people observing something paranormal or supernatural. Its very tough to substantiate such things so the default for most is to dismiss it.

Bigfoot is more of an intelligent being than a dumb monstrous beast. Although the legends don't provide proof for most people, I haven't lost interest in researching mysterious creatures & the paranormal.
Unless one is open to the possiblity of Bigfoot & several other elusive & mysterious creatures, they might not even know what they missed.
